For years, western cattlemen herded their livestock into a wooden catch pen with a ramp designed to load the cattle into the elevated bed of a cattle truck. With the advent of light-weight aluminum trailers and powerful diesel pickups, catch pens and loading ramps are left in disarray to slowly decay. Weeds, grass, and here blue lettuce plants, become their only companions. The view was taken from the perspective of a suckling calf- or maybe a red fox passing through the pastures looking for something to fill its belly.
