The Narrows of Zion National Park has been formed over eons of time by what is usually a rather unpretentious river--The Virgin. But at times during those thoussands of years, the Virgin must have become anything but a Virgin River. In places, the mighty river created a gorge that is something to behold--an narrow set of deep walls carved out without hands. At this corner of the river, the solitary tree stands in quiet contrast to the cliffs on either side, enduring as a testament of something that had more power than we could ever imagine.
